Updated March 6 at 10:05 p.m. With all Montgomery County precincts reporting election day results, Steve Toth won the Republican nomination for District 15 state representative with 78.36 percent, or 13,044 votes, compared with 21.64 percent, or 3,602 votes, for opponent Jackie Waters. “I’m humbled by the people in District 15 that have given me the opportunity to serve them,” Toth said. “[My priorities are] property taxes—helping the governor with tax reform, and education reform so that our teachers start getting paid what they’re worth.” Toth will face Democratic opponent Lorena Perez McGill in the general election in November. Published March 6 at 7:19 p.m. With early voting results tallied in the March 6 Republican primary elections, Steve Toth, District 15 state representative candidate, has taken a lead over opponent Jackie Waters. Toth garnered 78.45 percent of the early vote, or 7,541 votes total, compared to 21.55 percent, or 2,071 of the votes, for opponent Waters. The office was previously held by Rep. Mark Keough, who opted to run for Montgomery County Judge, instead of seeking re-election. The results of the primary election March 6 determine which candidates will be on the ballot for the midterm election in November.
