Longview Greens Miniature Golfing is hosting the third annual Texas Mini Golf Championship.
According to owner Jason Long, he and his wife have owned Longview Greens Miniature Golfing for six years. Long said he and his wife are competitive golfers, so they decided to begin a miniature golfing tournament to provide competition for the mini golfing community.
“Texas has never had a miniature golf championship tournament,” Long said.
Long said in the past, they have received players with all types of skill levels. He said the competition is open to those who compete professionally as well as those who just enjoy miniature golfing. Long said last year the turnout consisted of over 50 players, and they are expecting around 100 participants this year. There is a $5,000 pot that will be divided among the top 20 players, as well as a custom belt buckle for the first-place winner.
