After closing Aug. 9, Tex-Mex restaurant El Patio will reopen under new family ownership on Friday, Sept. 20 at 5 p.m. Paul and MaryAnn Joseph opened the restaurant at 2938 Guadalupe St., Austin, in 1954; their children ran it until last month. Paul and MaryAnn’s granddaughter, Kristyn Ciani, convened her cousins, Charles Attal and Jennifer Attal-Allen; Attal-Allen’s son Sled; and restaurateur Jesse Herman in an effort to revive the restaurant. According to a media release, many former staff will return and the menu will remain the same. Ciani said in the release that El Patio will now be open Sundays, there will be more drink offerings and hours will be expanded. 512-476-5955. www.elpatioaustin.com
