Austin Parks Foundation announced its grant recipients July 17, with three Central Austin parks set to benefit.
Friends of Brentwood Park will overhaul the 50-year-old Brentwood Park. The neighborhood group will begin using $19,950 to restore and upgrade the park's facilities. Projects include updating the fence surrounding the park and adding benches and water fountains, according to the news release.
The group hopes to have the park completed by in time for the upcoming school year.
Boggy Creek and Rosewood parks will receive 11 enclosed city-approved trash cans to replace the existing receptacles that were rusting and had no lids, according to a news release. Friends of Boggy Creek and Rosewood Glen Oaks Neighborhood Association will receive the $5,006.40 grant.
