The Austin American-Statesman, located at 305 S. Congress Ave., Austin, is being sold to New York City-based newspaper publisher GateHouse Media for $47.5 million. The sale is expected to close in early April and does not include the Statesman’s riverside property. The newspaper was previously owned by Cox Enterprises for more than 40 years.
