Sweet Charli Girl now selling treats at North Austin brick-and-mortar

Rachel Metts, founder and CEO of Sweet Charli Girl, opened her storefront on June 27. The gluten free bakery brings treats, coffee and custom cakes to North Austin.

On the menu

Everything on the menu is gluten-free and celiac safe, with vegan and dairy free options as well. The bakery sells cupcakes, specialty cakes, cookies, cheesecakes, peanut butter bars and more. The bakery also sells gluten free donuts, which are fried and yeast-based, Metts said.

Sweet Charli Girl brews specialty coffees made with local beans from Medici Roasting and house-made syrups, including vanilla beam, orange creamsicle and toasted coconut.

About the owner

Metts has always found joy in baking and sharing her creations with others, she detailed on the Sweet Charli Girl website. Baking was central to her family gatherings and quality time with her mom and grandmother, so much that she dreamed of opening a bakery.

After being diagnosed with a gluten intolerance, she had to reimagine her dream, and began testing new recipes, later discovering that gluten free treats could taste just as good.

The bakery is open from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Sweet Charli Girl is closed on Mondays.
