A new restaurant that aims to bring guests back to their childhood days opened in the Zilker neighborhood July 28. Elementary and its natural wine bar counterpart, Hopscotch, are open daily for dinner service at 2026 S. Lamar Blvd., Austin.
On the menu
Representatives describe Elementary’s food program as “casual fine dining.” The menu features cuisines from around the world, such as birria soup dumplings; banh mi eclairs; and al pastor tortellini, which includes mole, zucchini, manchego and sweet potato crisps.
Elementary’s cocktails lean into the restaurant's playful vibe, such as the Leggo Mi Eggo—its take on an espresso martini—which includes Eggo waffle syrup and cereal milk; the Smoking Paper Plane, which is lit on fire; and a version of a cosmopolitan that’s made with fermented Kool-Aid.
