The restaurant is rooted in owner Joyce Yang’s Taiwanese heritage, and has served as a connection between culture, food and community, she detailed in an announcement regarding the closure.
“This location has meant so much to my family and me,” Yang wrote in an announcement. “As a former [The University of Texas at Austin] student, opening CoCo’s gave me the opportunity to give back to the community that shaped me.”
