Closed since March, Barton Springs Pool to reopen with reservations June 9

After being closed for close to three months, Barton Springs Pool will open to the public beginning June 9.

According to materials on the city of Austin’s website, the historic Barton Springs Pool will reopen with limited capacity for four days a week.

Beginning June 9, Barton Springs Pool will be open from 5 a.m.-10 p.m. on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Residents can swim at their own risk daily from 5-7 a.m., but the pool will close after 7 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, according to the city’s website.

No admission will be charged during modified hours, according to the city, but reservations are required to use the pool. Reservations can be made here.

The city states on its website that multiple precautionary measures will be taken to protect residents from the spread of the coronavirus while at Barton Springs Pool.

Visitors will be screened for COVID-19 prior to entrance, and any visitors will be required to wear cloth coverings over their face when not actively swimming.

Further, staff will clear the Barton Springs Pool site every two hours for cleaning and disinfection.
