Heather Scott Home & Design, an Austin design brand, is now under new ownership and a new name. Raquel Skrobarczyk and Emily Ward, partners and longtime employees, are now co-owners of the brand. The pair has renamed the business to HS Interiors, honoring the brand’s legacy and their own.
The changes to HS Interiors align with the business’s 20th anniversary, according to a news release.
“Twenty years is a milestone worth celebrating, and we’re excited to mark it with a new name and a new home,” Ward said.
The history
Heather Scott Home & Design was founded in 2006 by husband-and-wife duo Scott and Heather Blue Harkovich. The couple started the business as a home decor boutique with a storefront in Northwest Austin at The Arboretum. Later, the brand expanded to full-service interior design, according to the release.
Ward then joined the business as an intern in 2012, with Skrobarczyk joining the team in 2014. Ward and Skrobarczyk became part owners ten years ago and have taken over complete ownership this year. Ward is Chief Operating Officer and owner while Skrobarczyk is Principal Designer and owner.
What's in a name
The brand’s new name, HS Interiors, represents Skrobarczyk’s last name initial and Ward’s maiden name initial. The updated name marries “the past with the present,” according to the release.
“Our approach is still classic, chic and serene, and the client experience still comes first,” Skrobarczyk said. “That’s what Heather and Scott built, and we’re carrying it forward.”
What’s next
Along with the change in ownership and branding, HS Interiors is also getting a new home base. The business is moving from its Rosedale spot to Clarksville. HS Interiors will open in a 1937 house in December on Baylor Street. The home is currently undergoing renovations.
