March 3-4 | Capital of Texas Police Motorcycle Chute Out The fourth annual event is a combined effort between eight local law enforcement agencies, including the Austin Police Department, Buda Police Department, Hays County Sheriff's Office, Kyle Police Department, Lakeway Police Department, Round Rock Police Department, Travis County Sheriff’s Office and Williamson County Sheriff's Office. The inaugural festival features panels and discussions for new creative content and uses of media in the global community. March 4 | It’s My Park Day

Austin residents can join Austin Parks Foundation for the 15th annual event. Volunteers clean and repair city parks in Austin as part of the annual citywide tradition. In spring 2016, more than 3,500 volunteers helped complete 115 citywide park projects. Residents can submit project ideas to the Austin Parks Foundation. March 4 | Peace, Love, Long Center

The ninth anniversary gala for the Long Center for the Performing Arts is its largest fundraising event of the year, raising funds to continue expanding the Long Center’s mission as well as the eight education and outreach programs that impact more than 80,000 youth annually. Chaddick Dance Theater presents its annual winter concert showcase. Integrating the architectural design of Austin City Hall with modern and theatrical dance, this year’s piece will explore the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the search for the next direction on the path of life. March 5 | ABC Zilker Kite Festival

The event, founded by The Exchange Club of Austin, is organized by Friends of the ABC Zilker Park Kite Festival Inc. Featuring food and booths, the festival is presented and produced by ABC Home & Commercial Services and includes the second annual MossFest concert as well as competitions, such as a kite contest and the inaugural Anteater Fun Run. Proceeds from the event go to Communities In Schools of Central Texas, which works with schools to help at-risk youth stay in school and graduate, and the Moss Pieratt Foundation.
