More Cedar Park residents will see their neighborhood roads resurfaced after the city expanded a roadwork project to include additional streets in the Cedar Park Square and Ranchettes subdivisions.
The details
Cedar Park City Council approved a change to the city’s contract with Lone Star Paving on June 25. The change order adds new streets to the project, with the existing asphalt removed and replaced with a new 2-inch asphalt surface.
“There are always more roads [needing resurfacing] than we have capacity to actually do, so this is great to hear,” council member Darron Jurajda said. “I’ve run on every single one of those roads, and they definitely need it.”

- Valk Street
- Oak Grove Drive
- Oak Dale Drive
- Serene Oak Drive
- Central Drive
- Century Lane

Funding the project
The additional street repaving was made possible because the city received a favorable bid from the contractor, City Manager Brenda Eivens said. That means the city was able to add additional streets to the project within the original budget using leftover funds.
The $2.2 million neighborhood road resurfacing contract was first approved by City Council in April and originally included neighborhoods near the intersections of Buttercup Creek Boulevard and Cluck Creek Trail, Lakeline Boulevard and Cypress Creek Road, as well as Bell Boulevard and New Hope Drive.
The project is funded by a combination of 2022 bond program money and annual pavement maintenance funds, city staff said.
