With several downed trees across Leander and Cedar Park due to severe ice accumulation following the winter storm, the cities are providing disposal opportunities to affected residents.
The city of Leander is accepting tree limbs and shrub brush on Feb. 11 and Feb. 18 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its public works site, which is located at 607 Municipal Drive. After-hour drop-offs are not allowed.
Tree and brush drop off will only be available for Leander residents, and valid identification will be required, according to the city. The city will be collecting tree and brush shrub only; only trailers up to 16 feet in length allowed; trim tree branches before drop off, if possible, on-site trimming will not be allowed; and tree branches and trunks more than 8 inches in diameter should be reduced to 4-foot lengths.
Officials will assist residents with unloading tree limbs and brush.
