1. East Whitestone Boulevard pass-through project The city of Cedar Park, the Texas Department of Transportation and Williamson County are collaborating on a project to rebuild East Whitestone Boulevard into a six-lane, divided roadway between Market Street and CR 175/Sam Bass Road. The project also includes a rebuilt intersection of Whitestone and Parmer Lane/Ronald Reagan Boulevard, which opened as a continuous-flow intersection Aug. 2. The intersection enhances safety and increases traffic flow through intersections by allowing left-turning traffic and through-traffic to move simultaneously, according to a news release from TxDOT and the city of Cedar Park. Final paving of the intersection from Market to Toro Grande Drive is expected to be complete by late August, and additional work between Toro Grande and Sam Bass will continue until the fall, said Jennie Huerta, media and communications manager with the city of Cedar Park.

Little Elm Trail extension The city of Cedar Park is continuing the filling of existing gaps on Little Elm Trail between Lakeline Boulevard and US 183, Huerta said. The project includes right-turn lanes on southbound US 183, Lakeline and the existing portion of Little Elm. On Aug. 5, Huerta said the city is in the process of road base, curb and gutter, and sidewalk construction through the Red Oaks subdivision, and the first layer of asphalt through the subdivision is complete. Between Lakeline and Liberty Oaks Boulevard the road is being prepared over the installed underground facilities, such as stormwater, sewage, water, electric and gas lines.

3. Cypress Creek Road/Lakeline Boulevard intersection upgrades The project includes extended dual left-turn lanes and widened existing left- and right-turn lanes on north- and southbound Lakeline Boulevard, which includes adding a lane to a bridge on Lakeline. On Aug. 5 Huerta said the project was substantially complete the first week of August and completely open to traffic. She said area clean up will be completed by mid-August.
