The Leander ISD board of trustees will meet Thursday at 6:15 p.m. at 1900 Cougar Country Drive, Cedar Park. The public portion of the meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. The agenda includes a presentation on the district's special education population and its performance on 2015-16 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, or STAAR exams. According to back up documents, the presentation is a follow up to the Oct. 6 presentation of student performance on state accountability tests. According to the presentation, the number of special education students in the district has dropped from 11.8 percent in the 2003-04 school year to 10.5 percent in the 2016-17 school year, as of Oct. 10. The agenda also includes a discussion on the district’s goals and objectives as well as an update on district demographics.
