D-BAT, an indoor baseball and softball training facility, opened June 26. The facility has rentable batting cages with pitching machines and performance technology. Softball and baseball lessons are taught in 30-minute or hourlong sessions. D-BAT will hold over 50 camps and clinics annually. Memberships, birthday parties and a pro shop are also available. The PREP School of Crystal Falls, a private preschool, opened June 29 in Leander. The preschool is enrolling children 6 weeks to 5 years old and enrolling for its kindergarten program. Director Lindsey Robidas said the school functions like a "mini elementary school," with outdoor areas, technology rooms and enrichment programs. The school is at 3361 N.
