Home sales increased in Cedar Park, slowed in Leander in August compared to 2020 data

Cedar Park homes, including single-family homes, townhomes and condos, spent an average of 9 days on the market in August. Leander homes spent 13 days on the market.

Similar to in Leander, home sales decreased 4.6% across the Austin metro area in August year over year. However, the median sales price increased 34.7% year over year to $470,000, which is an August record, according to ABoR.

“The region’s housing market is calming compared to the hectic pace experienced at the beginning of the year,” ABoR President Susan Horton said in the release. “While it wouldn’t be appropriate to say market conditions are normalizing—inventory is still at an all-time low and homes are still selling as soon as they hit the market—August’s housing activity is closer to what we would typically experience in the fall."
