Leander’s police and other city departments are set to receive 22 vehicles after approval by the City Council on Oct. 4. Council members unanimously approved $798,703.92 for the purchase of seven vehicles for the police department, two for the fire department, five for the parks department, three for the streets division, three for water, one for utility billing and one for general services, according to city documents. Twelve of the vehicles are to replace current vehicles while 10 would be new, additional vehicles for the city, according to the documents.
