Spare Birdie Public House breaks ground in Cedar Park

Spare Birdie Public House broke ground in Cedar Park Dec. 12.

The upscale entertainment venue is anticipated to open in late 2020 and will feature a full-service restaurant and bar, eight bowling lanes and six virtual golf bays. The space will also include an outdoor stage for live music and a covered patio.

Spare Birdie owners and brothers Aaron and Taylor Holmes hail from the New Orleans area. They said the project is unique and will be a place where people can relax and enjoy high-quality food and service.

“We searched the Austin area, and it just so happened that Cedar Park had the right property that fit the concept,” Taylor Holmes said. “We [heard from] a lot of people that complain that traffic is so bad going into [Austin] for activities.”

Members of the Cedar Park community gathered at the site of the venue, 1400 Discovery Blvd., for the groundbreaking ceremony.

“Today we are one step closer to bringing you a new socialtainment destination: 23,000 square feet of upscale, classic feast and folly featuring a robust food and drink menu designed for all palettes in mind,” said Russell Toynes of Studio Dzo, the design agency working with Spare Birdie, during the event.

Tony Moline, the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce's president and CEO, said he is excited about this project opening in the “heart of Cedar Park.”

“This is something that I think Cedar Park has needed and wanted,” Moline said at the event. “It’s going to be a destination.”
