Tamika Grant, the owner of Delightful Me Specialty Sweets and Bakery Services, said her goal is to provide anyone with a sweet tooth a dessert he or she can enjoy, regardless of his or her allergies or dietary restrictions.
Grant said when she changed her diet several years ago, dessert options for alternative diets were very limited, so she began developing recipes to mimic the family favorites she enjoyed growing up.
“I really like cake,” she said. “I [wanted] a real layer cake with all the frosting, [and] I couldn’t find that.”
The menu at Delightful Me includes baked goods for people who follow gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and paleo diets as well as for people without any dietary restrictions.
