The city of Cedar Park received a Community Economic Development Award Oct. 10 from the Texas Economic Development Council. The award recognizes cities’ exceptional contributions toward the economic vitality of their communities and Texas, according to a press release from the city. The city won the award particularly for its work in bringing Hyliion headquarters to Cedar Park. The clean energy, hybrid tractor-trailer technology company relocated to the Brushy Creek Corporate Center in 2019. “Our staff, council, and 4A board did a great job attracting Hyliion’s headquarters from Pennsylvania to Cedar Park," Cedar Park Mayor Corbin Van Arsdale said in the release. "They’re a great business doing cutting-edge technology, and we’re excited to have them. Our staff are well-deserving of this award.” At full operation Hyliion will create 229 jobs and have an estimated annual payroll of $20.6 million in Cedar Park, according to the release. https://texasedc.org
