Cedar Park residents give city high marks in recent survey

The survey was sent to more than 6,000 randomly-selected households in Cedar Park. According to Polco, a traditional level of confidence for this survey is a 95% response rate. Fran Irwin, Director of Communication and Engagement for Cedar Park, said that the margin of error for the City of Cedar Park survey was no greater than plus or minus 4.3% reported for all respondents.

“One purpose of the survey is to identify areas for improvement, so City staff are very interested in survey results to identify what’s working effectively and specific areas that may need attention,” Irwin said. “Overall, the 2025 survey results were very positive. We are notably pleased that our residents’ future priorities are consistent with the City Council’s existing strategic goals and objectives.”

The impact

According to the poll, Cedar Park residents rate the city highly in overall quality of life, with 9 out of 10 participating residents ranking the city “good” or “excellent.” City services earned high marks, particularly the fire department with a 97% approval rating and library services with a 95% approval rating.

The city also earned high marks for safety, with 9 out of 10 residents saying they felt Cedar Park was a safe place to live. Most residents responded that they felt safe from violent crime and natural disaster, and the city ranked higher than national benchmarks for a sense of safety from property crime, with 90% reporting they feel safe.

Residents rated the city highly for economic opportunities, with shopping opportunities and overall economic development exceeding the national benchmark. The city’s biggest area for economic improvement, according to the poll, is in tourism, with 58% of residents ranking the city as a “good” or “excellent” place to visit.

In terms of infrastructure and environment, 92% praised the city’s cleanliness and 88% to the overall quality of the city’s environment. Only 50% of those surveyed gave “good” or “excellent” ratings to the city’s transportation system, which is similar to other cities polled, according to Polco.

Looking ahead

94% of respondents said the biggest future priority for the city should be improving utility infrastructure. This ranked as the top priority for Cedar Park residents, landing above economic health, community design and mobility.
