Spanish Oaks Eyecare has transitioned to a myopia management center called Myopia Center of Texas.

Dr. Dina Miller said the center will now focus on slowing the progression of nearsightedness in children and teens.
“This shift reflects a growing need we’ve seen in our community—particularly since COVID—there has been a noticeable increase in the number of children developing myopia at a younger age,” Miller said.
Some treatments offered at the center include custom-fit Ortho-K lenses, MiSight 1-day soft contact lenses and low-dose atropine eye drops.
Miller said these options can help protect long-term eye health, reduce dependence on strong prescriptions and improve candidacy for future procedures such as LASIK.
“We are proud to be certified in myopia management, a distinction held by only a small number of providers worldwide,” Miller said. “As part of our commitment to providing the best care, we will also require all future employees to become certified. This allows us to stay deeply engaged with the latest research, refine our protocols, and provide families with the highest standard of care.
