Medical spa Preferred Laser opens in Cedar Park

Owner and esthetician Brittany Roper was inspired to start the business because of her own transformational experience with laser-based medical skin treatments. After suffering a severe sunburn in middle school, Roper was plagued with cystic acne on her back that made her feel self conscious.

“I understand what it’s like to feel insecure about yourself,” Roper said. “It bleeds into every aspect of your life.”

She said she tried dozens of treatments, from over the counter products to medical consultations, but didn’t see any results until receiving the Clear + Brilliant laser treatment.

“I looked like a different person,” she said. “It changed my whole life and put me on this career path.”

Roper trained as an esthetician and worked her way up in the industry before deciding to strike out on her own.

“I’ve worked with other companies that have cut corners and cut costs, and it’s really sad because I don’t align with that morally,” she said. “Trust that I’m truly doing it the preferred way, because you deserve it.”
