Cedar Park Public Library sees 143% increase in visitors at new facility

The Cedar Park Public Library officially opened to residents in Nov. 2024, marking one year of operations last month. The building is a 47,000-square-foot structure that serves as the anchor of the Bell District, a mixed-use development, according to previous Community Impact reporting.

In the past year, the library added 17,773 new books and materials to its shelves, according to the city’s social media. Since opening, the library has welcomed 655,785 visitors, a 143% increase from last year and the equivalent of 82 sold-out events at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park.

What they offer

The library offers specialized events, indoor and outdoor kids play areas, a makerspace, computers, internet access, meeting rooms, and multiple seating areas for visitors.

The city also announced that the library received LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, which recognizes energy efficiency, design and construction according to a Facebook post from the City of Cedar Park.

LEED certification addresses multiple factors, including energy and water use and materials selection, according to the USGBC website.
