College Station’s Marion Pugh Drive to close for two weeks

A stretch of Marion Pugh Drive will be fully closed for about two weeks starting Sept. 21.

The city of College Station reported Marion Pugh Drive will be fully closed from the Stadium View south exit to south of Luther Street as crews install water, wastewater and storm crossings.

What's next?

Throughout Phase 3A of the project, Luther Street will remain closed for 10-12 weeks, the city said. During this time, crews will be performing demolition, waterline construction, and road and sidewalk installation on the west side of Marion Pugh Drive, as well as drainage improvements at the Luther Street intersection.

Following Phase 3A, construction will move to Phase 3B, which will shift focus to the east side of the roadway for 6-8 weeks. The city said traffic flow will continue on a single southbound lane.

The entire Marion Pugh Rehabilitation Project is expected to be completed by early January 2027. The city said it is coordinating with Texas A&M to adjust traffic control plans as needed for game days.

Drivers are encouraged to proceed cautiously, obey signs and warnings, and expect delays through work zones.
