Roadwork continues on the "Big 6" project along Hwy. 6 in Bryan and College Station, with nightly lane closures scheduled throughout the week of April 26.
Construction to widen the corridor began in December and is expected to continue through 2030.
What you need to know
Nightly closures are expected for Texas Avenue.
- April 27-30: Full closure from Harvey Road to Texas Avenue, 8:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- Southbound mainlanes between Harvey Road and Texas Avenue will be fully closed each night.
- Drivers will be directed to exit at the Southwest Parkway ramp and reenter at the Texas Avenue signal. Several entrance ramps north of Harvey Road and Southwest and Harvey Mitchell parkways will also be closed during night construction.
- April 27: Single-lane closure on northbound frontage road between Rock Prairie Road and Harvey Mitchell Parkway, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- Also closed: Northbound on-ramp south of Harvey Mitchell Parkway/Emerald Parkway, northbound center left turn lane and westbound turn-only lanes at the Rock Prairie Road intersection
- April 28: Single-lane closure on northbound frontage road between Woodcreek Drive and Pavilion Avenue, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- Construction will close off both left and right lanes on the frontage road in two phases:
- Phase 1: Left lane closed for traffic barrier installation. The northbound on-ramp south of Harvey Mitchell Parkway will also be closed. Traffic may reenter south of Southwest Parkway.
- Phase 2: Right lane closed for drainage regrading. The northbound entrance ramp north of Rock Prairie Road will reopen at this time.
- Construction will close off both left and right lanes on the frontage road in two phases:
- April 29: Exit ramp closure at northbound Texas Avenue, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- The Texas Avenue/Business 6 off-ramp will be closed to remove the overhead sign structure. Traffic will still be able to access Texas Avenue at Southwest Parkway.
- April 30: Ramp closures, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- Southbound entrance ramp north of Harvey Road and Southwest and Harvey Mitchell parkways
- Also closed: Southbound frontage road turnaround at Harvey Road
