Throughout the week of July 13, drivers should expect road closures with a focus on Harvey Road in South College Station during the “Big 6” construction.
What you need to know
- July 13: Full closure of the northbound mainlanes between Barron and Harvey roads, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- Traffic will be directed to exit at Rock Prairie Road and reenter south of Harvey Road.
- The entrance ramps south of Barron Road, Harvey Mitchell Parkway and Southwest Parkway will also be closed.
- Texas Department of Transportation officials said drivers should be aware of new traffic patterns because of the installation of a new temporary widening pavement.
- July 14-15: Full closure of the southbound mainlanes between Harvey Road and Texas Avenue, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- Traffic will be directed to exit the Southwest Parkway exit ramp and may reenter the main lanes at the Texas Avenue and Deacon Drive traffic signal.
- The entrance ramps north of Harvey Road, Southwest Parkway and Harvey Mitchell Parkway will also be closed, along with traffic being shifted for the installation of a new temporary widening pavement.
What’s next
TxDOT will be maintaining two open main lanes in each direction during construction. A majority of the work will be on the main lanes, along with the construction of temporary pavement and retaining walls.
