Throughout the short last week of June, “Big 6” will have two main lane closures in Bryan-College Station. No closures are scheduled over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
What you need to know
- June 30: Single-lane closure of the northbound frontage road between William D. Fitch Parkway and Barron Road, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- The lane will be closed to set a traffic barrier, and the Barron Road exit ramp, the entrance ramp south of Barron Road, and the William D. Fitch Parkway southbound-to-northbound turnaround lane will be closed.
- Traffic will be able to re-enter main lanes south of Harvey Mitchell Parkway.
- July 1: Full closure of northbound mainlanes from Harvey Mitchell Parkway and Briarcrest Drive, 8:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- Traffic will exit on Southwest Parkway and re-enter south of Briarcrest Drive.
- The entrance ramps just south of Harvey Mitchell Parkway, Southwest Parkway, Harvey Road and University Drive will be closed starting at 7:30 p.m.
The Texas Department of Transportation will be maintaining two open mainlanes in each direction during construction. A majority of the work will be on the mainlanes, along with the construction of temporary pavement and retaining walls.
TxDOT offices will be closed July 3 in observance of Independence Day. TxDOT Bryan confirmed with Community Impact that there will be no closures during the holiday weekend.
