College Station receives timeline for Harvey Road Corridor Redevelopment Plan
College Station City Council received an update on the ongoing redevelopment of the Harvey Road Corridor at its May 28 meeting, outlining a timeline for the work ahead.
With development now beginning, the city has started consulting on the project, along with a market analysis and a kickoff event June 23 to help the public understand and learn more about the project during Phase 1.

12 events to attend in Aggieland through July Fourth
Summertime is in full swing across Aggieland. Pools and splashpads are open, camps are in session and the sun is out longer.
Upcoming events include Juneteenth celebrations, a massive Fourth of July celebration put on by the city of College Station featuring Josh Abbott Band and free snacks, an exciting chemistry roadshow and a family field day, among other fun events.

Bryan ISD approves 2026-27 employee compensation plan as budget challenges continue
Bryan ISD trustees unanimously approved a $2.2 million employee compensation package at its June 1 meeting while the district continued to warn of ongoing financial pressures tied to declining enrollment and limited state funding growth.
As the district continues to consider the possibility of a future voter-approval tax rate election, or VATRE, this compensation package would be reevaluated if approved in November. Bryan ISD has until mid-August to put a VATRE on November ballots.

College Station ISD offering free summer meals to local children
During the summer months, schools in College Station ISD will be offering children 18 and younger free breakfasts and lunches, no questions asked.
Kids can get their meals at Lincoln Center, South Knoll and Creek View elementary schools.

New Italian cafe inspired by Bryan staple restaurant coming to College Station
Mr. G’s Pizzeria owners are expanding their footprint with a new concept in south College Station.
The new venture, g’s Southside Italian Cafe, is expected to open in mid-July at Caprock Crossing, in the former Uptown Brunch location. The new cafe will operate separately from the longtime Bryan pizzeria while paying tribute to its roots.
Mr. G’s Pizzeria will continue operating in Historic Downtown Bryan.
