College Station's inaugural 'Restaurant Week' raises nearly $6K for Brazos Valley Food Bank

College Station's first Restaurant Week generated nearly $59,000 in sales, which promised 10%, or nearly $5,900 to the Brazos Valley Food Bank.

About Restaurant Week

Visit College Station orchestrated a week-long showcase, Aug. 24-30, for diners to enjoy fixed-price, multi-course menus at eight College Station restaurants.

Participating restaurants included:

• Brazos Proper Texas Kitchen

• Casa do Brasil

• Casa Mangiare

• De Baca Steakhouse

• Juanita's Tex-Mex Cantina

• Office of the Dean

• Porter's Dining + Bar

• Red's Icehouse

The impact

Visit College Station reported in a Sept. 8 news release that 10% of proceeds from the participating restaurants would go directly to the Brazos Valley Food Bank to support hunger relief across the Brazos Valley.

The results:

• Total sales: $58,595

• What's promised to BVFB: $5,859.50

What's next?

Visit College Station said it plans to build on the inaugural event's success and bring Restaurant Week back next year.
