Here are four road projects that are coming up or already under construction in the cities of College Station and Bryan, as well as Brazos County, according to city officials and capital improvement project information. This list is not comprehensive.
College Station
William D. Fitch Parkway Rehabilitation Phase 2
Project: Implementing various infrastructure improvements across the road, including new paving, signage and the replacement of some culverts and driveways.
Update: Starting at Williams Creek Drive and finishing at Rock Prairie Road, the final part of phase 2 of the rehabilitation will cause traffic changes from one-way to two-way to make the Williams Creek Subdivision accessible.
Timeline: Project began Sept. 9 and is to finish in mid-December.
Cost: $7.3 million
Funding source: Streets Capital Improvement Projects Fund
Lincoln Avenue Rehabilitation
Project: The project reconstructs Lincoln Avenue between Texas Avenue and University Drive, including replacing the existing asphalt with concrete pavement, adding shared-use paths for walkers and micro-mobility, utility upgrades, a right-turn lane at University Drive and roundabouts at Munson Avenue and Nimitz Street.
Update: Phase 2D, which stretches from Grand Oaks Circle to University Drive, is nearing completion. Both the northbound and southbound lanes opened for travel.
Timeline: Due to unforeseen circumstances with some waterline relocations, the project is now set to be complete in early October with signage installed.
Cost: $12.28 million
Funding source: Certificates of obligation, utility revenue
