The city of Bryan broke ground on Midtown Legacy Park on May 18, making way for its new destination playground at Travis Bryan Midtown Park.
About the project
The all-abilities playground, located along the 300 block of Midtown Boardwalk Way, is designed to serve children and families of all ages.
According to the city, plans call for 119 play components, more than 12,000 square feet of shade structures, accessible play features and design elements inspired by Bryan landmarks.
“This destination playground will be a gathering spot for our community,” Bryan Mayor Bobby Gutierrez said. “We visited playgrounds like this across the country and we met people who traveled there just for this kind of experience. We saw that people don’t stay for 10 minutes, they stay for hours. We’re excited to provide this great, free facility for families in the heart of Bryan.”
Before you go
Construction is expected to begin this summer and wrap up in early 2027. The project will also include restroom facilities and gathering spaces to support larger family visits and community events.
