Texas A&M University announced Oct. 1 it will continue collaborating with travel center chain Buc-ee’s and release more merchandise in honor of the school’s 150th anniversary.
The overview
As previously reported by Community Impact, Buc-ee’s and A&M partnered to release merchandise in select Buc-ee’s locations and the university bookstore in August. The shirt featured Bucky the beaver and Texas A&M iconography and was the second collaboration between the brands after starting their partnership in March.
According to a news release, the newest piece of clothing, a gray performance shirt, will feature Bucky and the Aggie logo, declaring both entities “two Texas traditions.” Texas A&M Chief Business Development Officer Shane Hinckley said the shirt will be a unique way for Aggies to show school pride during the sesquicentennial anniversary celebration.
“As we look ahead to celebrating Texas A&M’s 150th anniversary, this partnership highlights the incredible synergy between our university and Buc-ee’s, a bond rooted in the remarkable generosity and vision of Arch ‘Beaver’ Aplin III,” Hinckley said.
