Houstonians looking for something to do in July in the Bellaire, Meyerland, West University and surrounding areas have a number of options to choose from, including an author lectures, symphony performances and a kimono trunk show at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
Celebration of Independence Parade & Festival: The city of Bellaire will host a celebration with food, live music and two patriotic parades. The main parade will start at South Rice Avenue and Valerie Street, while the children’s bike parade will start at South Rice Avenue and Evergreen Street. Both parades will end at South Rice Avenue and Linden Street, and will be followed by a festival at Bellaire Town Square on the Great Lawn and in Loftin Park. Kimono Zulu trunk show: Kimono Zulu, a fashion brand that draws inspiration from traditional Japanese attire, hosts a three-day trunk show leading up to the kickoff of a new "Meiji Modern: Fifty Years of New Japan" exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, on July 7. The trunk show features a collection of reimagined vintage kimonos by contemporary artists and fashion designers.
