The Texas Medical Center admitted an average of 240 COVID-19 hospital patients per day for the week of July 11-17, which fell to 226 per day for the week of July 18-25, a 5.83% decrease in new patients, according to the TMC’s COVID-19 dashboard.
Meanwhile, the city of Houston’s average wastewater viral load was 774% baseline as of July 25—or 7.74 times the COVID-19 viral count of July 2020—a nearly 20% decrease from the previous week’s baseline.
During the week of July 18-25, there was an average of 80 new coronavirus cases per 100,000 people in Harris County each day with new cases trending downward at a rate of 5.69 fewer cases per day between July 11-26, according to Harris County Public Health.
The coronavirus positivity rate also slightly declined between the two weeks from 15.9% positivity to 15.6% positive COVID-19 tests administered across the greater Houston area, according to the TMC.
