ONGOING PROJECTS
1) Calder Drive improvements
The stretch between Turner Street and Ervin Avenue is being converted from a rural, open-ditch roadway to a two-way street with a center turn lane and curb and gutter. A new roundabout at the intersection of Calder Drive and Turner opened in mid-September.
Timeline: April 2017-January 2019
Cost: $10.9 million

2) I-45 widening
The Texas Department of Transportation is widening I-45 from six to eight lanes to Galveston. Two project segments stretch through League City and include several intersection improvements. When complete, I-45 will pass over FM 646 instead of under.
Timeline: November 2016-21
Cost: $222 million
Funding sources: Texas Department of Transportation ($142 million), federal government ($80 million)
3) St. Christopher Avenue
reconstruction
This project will replace the existing asphalt roadway with a concrete curb and gutter roadway and includes drainage improvements so stormwater more easily flows off streets and into Robinson Bayou. The current open ditches will be replaced with underground culverts that will move stormwater across FM 270 at Abilene Street. The project runs form FM 518 to Abilene Street.

4) El Dorado Boulevard reconstruction
The road from Clear Lake City Boulevard to Horsepen Bayou will be expanded from a two-lane to a four-lane street with a median in between.
Timeline: construction starts spring 2019
Cost: $7 million
Funding sources: city of Houston ($3.9 million), Harris County ($3.1 million)
5) Red Bluff Road widening
Red Bluff Road between Hwy. 146 and Kirby Boulevard will be widened, and a second bridge will be built over Taylor Lake to create an alternative evacuation route during emergencies.
Timeline: construction starts spring 2019
Cost: $15.3 million
Funding sources: TxDOT ($12.2 million), Harris County ($3.1 million)
6) North Landing Boulevard extension
About 1.7 miles of a four-lane, urban, divided boulevard will be constructed to connect Landing Boulevard to South Gulf Freeway near the NASA Bypass to the north. Two bridges are included in this project, including one that will go over Clear Creek. Current plans include the city of Webster tying the road into I-45.
