Seabrook celebrates 65 years since the city's incorporation

The city of Seabrook is celebrating the 65th anniversary of its official incorporation in 1961.

Over the past 65 years, Seabrook has grown from a small coastal community into a city that has managed to maintain its unique connection to Galveston Bay, Clear Lake and the natural environment, according to a proclamation from the city.

Mayor Jim Sweeney encouraged all residents, businesses and community organizations to join in commemorating this milestone.

"The 65th anniversary provides an opportunity to honor Seabrook's rich history, celebrate the community of today and look forward to a future of continued progress, opportunity and civic pride," the proclamation said.
