Public meeting to gather feedback on developing League City’s vacant land

League City will hold a public meeting Nov. 6 to discuss and gather community feedback on how to design and develop the city’s remaining 40% of undeveloped land.

The details

The meeting will allow community members and stakeholders to share input that will be considered in the city’s Westside Master Plan, which will be used as a guide for how the city will balance residential and commercial development in the areas currently undeveloped, according to an Oct. 24 news flash from the city.

The majority of the city’s vacant land—around 4,000 acres—is located west of Hobbs Road and north of FM 517. It is owned by families and private developers, according to the news flash.

The meeting will consist of a presentation followed by an opportunity for attendees to review renderings of the two draft plans, and meet with city staff and consultants one-on-one to ask questions and provide feedback, according to the news flash.

The meeting will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. at Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center, 400 W. Walker St., League City.

The meeting will be hosted by city staff along with LJA, a consulting firm working with the city to develop the plan.
