Community snapshot: Bay Area sees majority of population under age 40

A majority of both League City and Seabrook’s residents are under the age of 40, while the reverse is true for Clear Lake Shores, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2022 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates.

Both League City and Seabrook’s age demographics are fairly close to what the state’s breakdown is, according to the data. Seabrook also has an almost identical median age of 34.8 compared to the state’s 34.4. League City’s is a little higher at 37.1.

Clear Lake Shores, which has the lowest population of the two, had just 28.6% of its population under the age of 40, and two-thirds of its population between the ages of 40 and 79, according to the data.

For comparison, League City had 42.9% of its population between that age.
