Cirque du Soleil is returning to Houston with its latest show "Echo," a story of connection, intention and the symbiotic union between humans and the animal kingdom, the show’s senior publicist Kevin Albert said.
According to a Sept. 9 news release, Cirque du Soleil’s 25th Big Top show will bring bold new visuals and a unique aesthetic with vibrant characters, inspiring music, lights and projections.
Initiated by a troupe of roughly 20 performers founded by Gilles Ste-Croix on the streets of a village in Canada, Cirque du Soleil expanded outside of the small town in 1984 to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the discovery of Canada by Jacque Cartier.
Since taking its first tour to the U.S. in 1987, Cirque du Soleil has become one of the biggest live entertainment companies in the world with about 1,000 performers, Albert said.
