CenterPoint Energy officials reported about 1.05 million customers remain without power following Hurricane Beryl as of 3:30 p.m. July 11.
Based on restoration timelines, about 85% of CenterPoint power outages will be restored by the end of the day July 14, while about 500,000 customers are expected to continue facing outages beyond the weekend.

About half of all households and businesses facing power outages in the wake of Hurricane Beryl have had their service restored as of the morning of July 11, according to updates from CenterPoint Energy and Entergy Texas.
The storm made landfall in the Greater Houston area July 8. Structural damage from heavy wind and rainfall as well as downed trees across the community affected electricity, cellphone and internet service.
Officials with CenterPoint Energy said customers who still do not have power can expect to see estimated restoration times on its online status tracker by noon on July 11, according to a news release.

By the numbers
As of the morning of July 11, CenterPoint has restored power for about 1.16 million customers impacted by Hurricane Beryl. According to the online outage tracker, 1.1 million customers still do not have power as of 10 a.m. July 11, and 2.26 million total customers were without power at some point due to Hurricane Beryl.
An additional 400,000 customers should have their power restored by the end of the day July 12, followed by another 350,000 customers by the end of the day July 14, officials said in the release.
Entergy Texas had restored power for just over half of its affected customers as of 7:30 p.m. July 10, according to the latest update available. Crews will continue working to restore 75% of customers' power by the end of the day July 12, officials said in a news release. Officials said a total of 252,460 customers lost power due to the storm.

CenterPoint officials said Hurricane Beryl hit Brazoria County, Matagorda County and the I-45 corridor toward The Woodlands the hardest, and customers in these areas experienced prolonged outages due to structural damage in the area. Downed trees also contributed to the damage as officials said many trees were vulnerable due to inclement weather, including freezes and droughts, over the past few years.
“We understand how difficult it is for our customers to be without power, particularly in this summer heat," said Lynnae Wilson, senior vice president of electric business at CenterPoint Energy, in a statement. “Having substantially completed our damage assessment and restoration of customers impacted by circuit-related outages, our crews are now focusing on repairing more localized damage, including in the hardest-hit areas. We know that our customers are counting on us, and we are committed to working as safely and quickly as we can until every last customer is back on."
