The San Jacinto College Foundation has received an anonymous $1.5 million grant to support the college’s Promise campaign, according to a Sept. 18 news release from the college.
The Promise campaign supports the Promise @ San Jac Scholarship, which allows graduating high school seniors that live in the college’s taxing district to not have debt while earning a certificate or associate degree at San Jacinto College, the news release reads.
The overview
The $1.5 million grant is a two-part gift, in which $500,000 was an initial outright gift made upon grant approval. The remaining $1 million will be provided depending on the foundation’s chances of raising matching funds from additional private donors, according to the news release.
