Clear Creek ISD’s board of trustees unanimously approved a $432 million budget for fiscal year 2026-27 at its Aug. 24 meeting after hearing about financial pressures the district is facing.

Student enrollment is the largest driver in the district’s budget, CCISD’s Chief Financial Officer Alice Benzaia said. The district’s enrollment peaked in 2019 at 42,000 students and has steadily declined year over year since, according to the presentation.

Homestead exemptions have also reduced the district’s total taxable value.
“Because of these homestead exemptions, our taxable values have remained relatively flat in light of our market values increasing significantly,” Benzaia said.

The board will formally adopt the tax rate at its Sept. 28 meeting, according to previous reporting.
As of Aug. 24, the tax rate is projected to be $0.969 per $100 valuation of a home, according to district documents.
