Seven different Bay Area restaurants will participate in Houston Restaurant Weeks, which runs Aug. 1 though Sept. 3. The month-long event is the biggest fundraiser for America's largest food bank, the Houston Food Bank. Restaurants from The Woodlands to Galveston will offer specially priced brunch, lunch and dinner, portions of which will be donated to the food bank. Meal prices range from $20 to $45, and donations from meals sold range from $3 to $7, which can generate anywhere from nine to 21 meals by the food bank. See a list of participating restaurants and menus, which will be updated through Aug. 1, at www.houstonrestaurantweeks.com.
