Bastrop named best family destination, best outdoor adventure in 2024 Texas Travel Awards

Bastrop was awarded the people’s choice award for best family destination and best outdoor adventure at the 2024 Texas Travel Awards. The city’s hiking, fishing and birding opportunities were recognized as incentives for outdoor tourism in Bastrop.

Additionally, The Bastrop Music Festival received the title of best small/mid-market music festival. The 2023 Bastrop Music Festival hosted 40 shows featuring a variety of music genres.

Visit Bastrop, the city’s official tourism marketing team, received the three awards. The organization helps highlight Bastrop’s local tourist attractions and events.

“It’s an incredible honor to take home three Texas Travel Awards, in collaboration with our partners at Augustine Agency,” Director of Marketing Ashton LaFuente said in a Feb. 22 press release.

The Texas Travel Awards are held each year to recognize the state’s top travel destinations. Award winners are featured on the Texas Travel Awards site.

“This recognition isn’t just about us; it’s a reflection of the positive impact Bastrop has on the Texas community and travel industry,” LaFuente said in the release. “We’re deeply humbled and grateful to receive these awards.”
