The Austin Retina-Bastrop team can now treat more patients after relocating about two miles west of its former spot.

Originally slated to open in spring 2025, Austin Retina spokesperson Pam Shipley said the clinic opened at its new location months ahead of schedule.

The Austin Retina team moved from the complex at 1106 College St. to its new, larger space near the upcoming Burleson Crossing East, which will house Kohl's Bastrop—among others.
Shipley said the move allows the team to treat a greater number of patients using cutting-edge technology.

The detailsAccording to the website, a retina exam is more extensive than a routine eye exam.
“Your initial visit may take anywhere from 2-4 hours, but will depend on what diagnostic tests your retina specialist deems necessary based on your clinical condition,” officials said.
During the appointment, patients will be asked to complete a medical history, and undergo vision and eye pressure checks, as well as an external examination. After that, the patient’s eyes will be dilated followed by possible diagnostic testing.
“Based on the diagnostic testing and exam, your retina specialist may be able to treat you in the office during the visit,” officials said.
