Fall officially started Sept. 22, and many upcoming events can help Austin-area residents embrace the change in seasons. Here is a non-comprehensive list of the pumpkin patches, fall festivals and Oktoberfest events taking place throughout Central Texas from September to November.

Manchaca United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch

Sept. 25 to Oct. 31 Visitors can walk through the pumpkin patch, take photos on hay bales and purchase pumpkins, which are priced according to size. Sat.-Sun. Bluebonnet Beer Co. Presents Oktoberfest

Oct. 2 The second Annual Oktoberfest features polka music, American and German style beers, bratwurst and soft pretzels, Kinder Park inflatables area for kids, and contests. Oct. 7 through 29 The zoo becomes illuminated and decorated for the Halloween occasion. Attendees can wear a costume, bring a picnic to enjoy in the picnic grove, ride a haunted train, explore a haunted house and see the zoo animals at night with a flashlight. Adult attendees wearing a costume may not wear a mask. Oct. 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29. 6:30-9 p.m. $15 (includes a haunted train pass and unlimited haunted house visits). Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser

AustOberfest

Oct. 22 The event celebrates Central Texas’ German heritage with German-style sausage, beer, a contest stage, bowling and live music. Admission includes unlimited German-style sausage and sides from some of the region’s most notable barbecue figures. 5-10 p.m. (sausage tastings), 5-11 p.m. (beer tastings). $50. Halloween Children’s Concert 2016

Oct. 23 The Austin Symphony Orchestra’s annual performance features “frightfully fun” symphonic music for children ages 2–10. Ghosts on the Square Tours

Oct. 21-22 & 28-29 Join the Williamson Museum for a downtown Georgetown ghost tour as they tell the stories of ghosts who have haunted local places for more than one hundred years. Kyle Hogwash Festival & BBQ Cook-off

Oct. 21-22 The inaugural event includes live music with Two Rivers Trio, Austin Gilliam, Doug Kent, The Georges and headliner Midnight River Choir. The festival also includes two days of carnival activities, vendor booths, a cooking demo stage and barbecue cook-off. 3-11 p.m. (Fri. carnival and barbecue), noon-11 p.m. (Sat. carnival). Anderson Mill Fall Festival

Spooktober 5K and Fall Fest

Oct. 22 The 5th annual event features a 5K, fall festival and Kids K, hosted by the Friends of Austin State Supported Living Center. Pumpkin carving contest

Halloween Festival

Fall Bash fundraiser

Oct. 27 Capital Area Parkinson’s Society hosts its second annual fundraiser to support the nonprofit’s mission of addressing needs of local residents living with Parkinson’s disease. Dittmar Halloween Spooktacular
