DeVry Anderson named chief medical officer at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center

St. David’s South Austin Medical Center announced April 27 that Dr. DeVry Anderson will serve as the center’s new chief medical officer.

According to a news release from St. David’s South Austin, Anderson has replaced Dr. Albert Gros, who retired earlier this month after holding the position for 30 years. Anderson had been the medical center’s associate chief medical officer since September.

Prior to working at St. David’s South Austin, Anderson was vice president of medical services at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Hood and has also served as a U.S. Army colonel.

“Dr. Anderson has transitioned seamlessly into this role amidst a global pandemic unlike anything we have seen in our lifetimes,” St. David’s South Austin CEO Charles Laird said in the release. “I am confident he will continue to build upon the exceptional level of care provided at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center.”

St. David’s South Austin Medical Center is located at 901 W. Ben White Blvd., Austin. 512-447-2211. www.stdavids.com
