Ring in 2023 for free at the City of Austin's New Year's Eve celebration at Auditorium Shores on Dec. 31.

The celebration begins at 6 p.m. when the lawn gates open and ends after the fireworks at midnight. Those attending are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the festivities in comfort from the lawn.

The evening will be hosted by Trevor Scott of KEYE-TV, CBS Austin. Live music begins at 7:30 p.m. with a performance by Extragrams. The music continues at 8 p.m. with El Combo Oscuro. At 9:30 p.m., Tameca Jones will take to the stage and at 11 p.m., the final musical performance of the night will start with The Texas Gentleman, who will help count down the new year starting at 11:55 p.m.

Food trucks will be on the grounds, including food from RedFin, Four Brothers, Burro Cheese Kitchen, Amy's Ice Creams, Garbo's Lobster, Shawarma Point, Mom & Pops, T.O.P.G. Roasted Corn, and I Panini. This year, those attending will have the option to buy beer, wine and champagne in the designated beer hall.

Parking will be available at the RiverSouth Garage, One Texas Center and Palmer Event Center. Attendees may reserve a parking space through Pavemint for RiverSouth Garage and One Texas Center. In addition, the MetroRail will offer rides through 2:30 a.m. from the downtown station at the Austin Convention Center and Night Owl Services. CapMetro will maintain its normal Saturday schedule through 11:30 p.m.


Road closures around the event will start at 5 p.m. and the bridge on South First Street will close at 10:30 p.m.
